Lawyers reserved for viral traffic row

The Cantt Police have registered a case against some lawyers to launch threats in traffic police, making a video of the shock about the breakdown of a motorcycle and makes it viral on social networks. The case was registered under the PCA law and other crimes.

Rawalpindi’s legal fraternity protested the registration of a case and demanded his quick withdrawal.

Inspector Wajid, from the city’s transit police, complained that he was on service with his team when lawyer Chaudhry Rizwan Elahi circulated on Facebook on Facebook.

The incident took place on Saturday in Haider Road, where a motorcyclist was stopped for not wearing a helmet and for the absence of a front registration. The rider, identified as Malik Tajammul, received a Challan (ticket), and his motorcycle was confiscated due to the lack of documents.

The motorcyclist appeared as a lawyer and called around 15 lawyers at the scene, who allegedly threw serious threats. Other police present helped to calm the situation. However, lawyer Rizwan Elahi then published the video on his Facebook account, supposedly to defame the police.

The complaint establishes that the video became intentionally to incite public and evil feeling the image and dignity of the police department.

In addition, he alleges that threats to uniformed officers were issued and the official work were obstructed, the acts considered criminals.

Police confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations are being carried out.

On the other hand, the lawyers strongly condemned the registration of a case, calling it. In a statement issued by Asad Mehmood Malik, secretary of the Rawalpindi Lawyers Association, the Association expressed a strong condemnation of “illegal, unconstitutional and inappropriate behavior of the City Police Police” towards its dear member and former Secretary, lawyer Malik Tajammul Awan.

Although the matter was resolved in the scene, the Bar Association strongly protested the “FIR without foundation and illegal” presented against the defenders of Elahi and Awan, demanding its immediate withdrawal.

The Rawalpindi District Bar Association declared full solidarity with its members, stating that the dignity and honor of the legal fraternity would never be compromised. If the case is not withdrawn within 24 hours, the bar will announce its next strict action course.
