- Leaked image suggests Motorola will show its first book-style foldable at CES
- Apparently called the Motorola Razr Fold, it will likely launch later in 2026.
- It could be a great rival for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or 8
Without a new OnePlus Open in 2025, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 hasn’t had much competition, but that could change soon as it looks like Motorola is preparing to launch its first book-style foldable.
Evan Blass, a leaker with an excellent track record, has shared what looks like an official marketing slide and, while unfortunately it doesn’t show the phone itself, he does mention that the “Motorola Razr Fold” is coming and will be the first Motorola phone in the “foldable form factor.”
According to this image, the Motorola Razr Fold will have “bright displays, smart AI, and a boundary-breaking advanced camera system,” which combined will apparently set a new standard for what’s possible with a foldable phone.

Coming this year
That certainly sounds promising, and we should soon have a clearer idea of what the Motorola Razr Fold has to offer, as the image also says it’s already been previewed. Obviously, he hasn’t actually done it yet – at least not in public – but presumably he will be soon, with the current CES 2026 is likely to be the venue. In fact, as Android Central previously noted, the company’s CES invite already hinted at the device.
However, this will apparently just be a preview, as the device is said to arrive later this year and more details will apparently be revealed in the coming months. Therefore, the Motorola Razr Fold could end up being more of a rival to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 than the current Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Either way, though, it’s great to see more options and competition in the foldable phone space, and if the Motorola Razr Fold is as good as the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025, a foldable that we gave 4.5 stars in our review, then it should be worth the wait.
