- The next camera in the series M of Leica could be the first of its kind with an EVF
- It could be the most small, lighter and more versatile Leica camera so far
- The rumors suggest that it will be launched later this year
Now here there is a rumor of Leica with many potential ways to navigate: Leica is apparently working in a new camera of the M series that will abandon the experience of the teleometer for which the series is famous, in favor of an electronic viewfinder (EVF).
The details recently shared by Leica rumors are few and distant, leaving me with many questions, so we explore where you could go with this new potential model.
The M series of Leica, both analog and digital models, use an optical television station to manually compose and focus the shots, using a mastery -difficult divided image guide for a sharp approach to its subject. It is not for everyone, but the Leica television station is the soul of the series, a shooting experience that you cannot find elsewhere (in addition to the Pixii Rangefinder).
Speaking practically, an EVF will be much more useful than a telemeter: it will obtain a preview of exposure and the manual assistance tool of ‘supreme approach’ extremely useful. Such design change should make the smaller and light digital series camera of this Leica model to date to date, and also the cheapest.
Rumors suggest that this is not a next -generation M12 Leica, but a new series within the M assembly ecosystem of Leica. A MA series with EVF sounds a lot like a premium compact Leica Q3 / Q3 43 (see above), but with interchangeable lens support. I loved trying the Leica Q3, but it is a completely different and modern camera experience in front of the M series.
A new dawn for the series M of Leica?
Changing the television station for an electronic viewfinder may sound like a small change, but it would mark the larger design review than the M series of Leica has seen. It would also remove the unique point of sale from Leica: the television station.
Some feel that the telemeters are trapped in the past: an experience of manual image approach divided only that it is difficult to dominate, while other cameraless camera systems such as Sony and Canon enjoy the automatic approach that is so effective That you, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, the photographer, barely need more focus skills. For others, the viewer’s experience is exactly the challenge they enjoy, a charm that they cannot obtain elsewhere (despite the Pixii, which is the only other digital television station in the market).
Consider the possibilities of an M series camera with an evf. If in fact it is a M series chamber, it will use the Munation M of Leica, for which there are many manual focus lenses available, both Leica Faces options and the cheapest third parties. The lenses are small and adapted to what could be the smallest M-Serie Chamber of Leica.
When I imagine the mysterious camera of the M series as a Q3 with Leica M-Mount, my mind becomes a characteristic that Q3 has that the M series lacks: automatic approach. Could a new Leica camera have an automatic approach? The lens support would need a new redesign, and new automatic approach lenses would be needed, but it seems plausible, even if it marks a new direction for Leica.
Then there is the Leica SL series to consider, the last generation is the LEICA SL3. It is a complete DSLR -style frame with l mounting L, completed with automatic focus skills. There is an attractive case for a compact -style camera of the M series with an EVF and the l assembly equipped with automatic approach.
However, rumors point to a model of the M series with an EVF, a particularly large tactile screen without rear buttons, and I do not hope that any of the seismic changes has previously dreamed. It is likely that this is also a manual chamber of focus only, taking full advantage of the assistance tools offered by EVF, and presumably the last 61MP sensor in Leica. The stabilization of the image in the body would be a useful addition, but again, doubtful.
