Leinteshire Sign Shan Masood in the agreement of any format

Leinteshire has signed Pakistan Test Captain Shan Masood in a format agreement for summer 2025.

The 35 -year -old, who supervised a victory of the test series against England last year, will bring experience and batting pedigree to Grace Road. You must begin its period in May, after the conclusion of the Super League of Pakistan, and should make your debut in LeĆleshire on May 31 against its former county, Derbyshire.

The measure confirms the end of the Masood Association with Yorkshire, after the culmination of a two -year agreement that saw him captain the club since 2023. The first left -handed game accumulated 1.240 County Championship of an average of 53.91 in 15 games, which helps Yorkshire to win the promotion of division one in 2024.

Originally Headingley had moved after an impressive 2022 summer with Derbyshire, in which he scored 1,078 first -class races at 82.61. It was during this period, in April, that Masood hit 219 against Leinteshire in a victory of tickets, becoming the first Derbyshire batter to obtain consecutive double centuries after 239 versus Sussex the previous week.

Pakistan has been limited 90 times by Pakistan in all formats, including 42 test stops, and joins the captain of the Peter Handscomb Club and the Netherlands Logan Van Beek as the LeĆleshire options abroad for the next campaign. It is expected to be available throughout the season, without scheduled test matches during the English summer. That could change if the PCB decides to remember its limited configuration for a tour of the Caribbean as of July 31, although the last international appearance of Ball White-Ball of Masood arrived in May 2023.

“I am really excited to have the opportunity to play the three formats for Leinteshire. I have always admired the club and have had great conversations with many of the team during the last three seasons,” Masood said in a statement published on Tuesday.

“I love playing in Uptonsteel County Ground. Fans support the team in strong quantities and the games that I have been part have always been a great show. The club has been very competitive in all formats and produced some fantastic young players in recent years. It is an exciting moment to join the foxes.”

The director of Cricket, Claude Henderson, added: “We are delighted to welcome someone from Shan caliber to Leinteshire. It is a talent proven internationally and in the County Cricket, and someone who can win matches in the three formats.

“Shan completes a fantastic line of additions abroad to our team. His leadership and experience will be invaluable for the team both inside and outside the field.”
