LG has unveiled its expanded second-generation LG-exclusive smart appliances, debuting at CES 2025, including a refrigerator that was born for the party.
The new line adds enhanced AI-powered features and additional functionality across a range of products: the LG Signature French Door Refrigerator with T-OLED Door Panel, the Smart InstaView Over-The-Range Microwave, and the Induction Cooktop with Slide-Out Double Oven. Dishwasher, Washer and Dryer, and the pair of Washer and Dryer.
This follows the announcement of LG’s new smart home hub, the LG ThinQ ON AI Home Hub, which will also be shown in action at the major tech convention in Las Vegas (January 7-9) to demonstrate the brand’s vision for AI. Assisted smart home.
“The expanded second-generation LG SIGNATURE lineup seamlessly blends advanced technology with sleek, modern design to deliver a smarter and more efficient luxury home lifestyle,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Home Appliance Solution Company. . “Through the seamless fusion of next-generation connectivity, artificial intelligence and smart home technologies, we will continue to deliver transformative customer experiences that go beyond expectations.”
Let’s talk about that disco refrigerator
For me, the most eye-catching appliance in LG’s new entourage is the new 36-inch Smart InstaView French Door Refrigerator, which houses a fully transparent T-OLED display embedded in the top right door.
Not only does this digital touchscreen serve as a Dual InstaView panel, meaning you can easily view contents without opening the refrigerator door, but LG reports that the screen can also display “fascinating hologram-like images, combining the virtual with the real in a sublime fusion of art and high technology.”
Additionally, the refrigerator comes with the pre-installed “essential” app (a music selection brand operated by NHN Bugs, a South Korean music streaming service), which can play a curated music playlist packed with “beats.” soft and atmospheric”, according to LG.
Otherwise, the Smart InstaView French Door Refrigerator benefits from LG’s ThinQ food management system and a built-in AI camera to automatically identify stored foods and suggest recipes based on the refrigerator’s contents, taking dietary preferences into account. and monitoring expiration dates.
The best of the rest
There’s nothing like dancing in your kitchen, narrowly avoiding burning your dinner while playing some classic Chic songs. However, with LG’s wider range of appliances, that no longer has to be a worry, allowing you to enjoy free time in the kitchen.
With the LG Signature Over the Range Microwave and Slide-Out Double Oven Induction Cooktop, you get a microwave equipped with three built-in cameras to monitor cooking in real-time and create time-lapses, and an induction cooktop powered by Gourmet AI technology . , which, like the refrigerator, can identify ingredients and provide recipe suggestions.
The microwave also features a 27-inch Full HD touchscreen with InstaView, built-in speakers, and Wi-Fi connectivity. This means you can not only check the progress of dishes in the kitchen, but also stream entertainment services and access the LG ThinQ Smart Home panel. This means you can control all your LG AI devices, as well as compatible Matter and Thread devices.
If you’re sweating from all this kitchen revelry, LG’s new laundry line features LG’s Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD) 2.0, which offers precise fabric care and inverter heat pump technology for effective drying at low temperature. Both the new LG Signature washer and dryer and the LG Signature 29-inch washer and dryer pair also come equipped with a 7-inch LCD touchscreen.
