Liam Payne’s sister Ruth is mourning the loss of her brother on the first anniversary of his tragic death.

For the uninitiated, Liam tragically passed away after falling from the third floor balcony of a hotel in Argentina in October 2024.

In the detailed note, Ruth reflected on how “cruel” life is and noted that “Liam’s death will never make sense” to her.

He also mentioned that Liam’s only son, Bear, whom he welcomed with his ex Cheryl Tweedy, has “changed enormously.”

“1 year, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days… however I say it, it still means the most heartbreaking truth that you are no longer here,” he began.

Ruth further expressed her pain and shared, “I had taken for granted that my little brother would be there for his entire life.”

He went on to say, “I underestimated the pain, boy did I underestimate it. I am paralyzed by it daily. I thought I had felt it before but I know the losses before you were just intense sadness, you are the loss of my life, the only person I will miss every time in my life.”

“What a cruel lesson to learn at 30, that a brother is not guaranteed for life, that I have to face this without you.”

Additionally, Ruth shared that if she had five more minutes to spend with Liam, she would say goodbye to him in her garden.

He concluded his touching note by reminding Liam’s followers that despite being a celebrity, he was still a son, father and brother.
