Lindsey Vonn is still in the hospital and still waiting for images before learning the next steps in her medical recovery after competing with a torn ACL at the Olympics last week.

“I finally feel more like myself, but I have a long way to go,” Vonn said in an Instagram video.

“Tomorrow I’ll have another surgery and hopefully everything will go well. And then I’ll potentially be able to leave and go home, at which point I’ll need another surgery. I still don’t know exactly what that entails until I get better pictures.”

Vonn was visibly emotional as she lay in the hospital bed after “a tough few days.”

“That’s where I am right now. I’m in the hospital, very still,” Vonn said.

His next surgery will be his fourth following his recent injury during an Olympic comeback attempt.

Vonn was arguably the biggest American story to participate in the Milan Cortina Olympics this year, returning to the Games for the first time in eight years after a temporary retirement. He tore his ACL just a week earlier in a World Cup race, but went ahead with his attempt to compete anyway.

She then crashed 13 seconds into her first race at Milan Cortina after hitting a door and was airlifted from the Olympic track and taken to Ca’ Foncello Hospital in Treviso.

Vonn said she has “no regrets” in her first Instagram post after the accident earlier this week.

“Although yesterday did not end as I expected and, despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets. Standing at the starting gate yesterday was an incredible feeling that I will never forget,” the caption read.

“Knowing that I was there with a chance to win was a victory in itself. I also knew that running was a risk. It always was and always will be an incredibly dangerous sport.

“And, just like ski racing, we take risks in life. We dream. We love. We jump. And sometimes we fall. Sometimes we get our hearts broken. Sometimes we don’t achieve the dreams we know we could have. But that’s also the beauty of life; we can try.

“I tried. I dreamed. I jumped.”

She says the torn ACL had nothing to do with the accident.

“I was simply 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm caught inside the gate, twisting me and causing my accident. My ACL and past injuries had nothing to do with my accident,” she said.
