Olympic gold medalist and American ski star Lindsey Vonn continued to defy the odds Friday as she completed her first training session in women’s alpine skiing just a week after completely tearing her ACL in a World Cup race.

Vonn, wearing bib number 10 and a knee pad on her left knee, successfully completed her race on a day when fog delayed skiers waiting their turn at the Tofane Alpine Ski Center in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. The 41-year-old champion skier will return to the Winter Olympics in the women’s downhill on Sunday.

He completed his official training run in 1:40.33.
