Bringing your Google Workspace files to the next level should be easier than ever thanks to a lot of new updates.
The company revealed a series of office software updates with AI in its Google Cloud Next 25 event designed to provide users with a promotion of productivity and creativity when they need it most.
Among the new releases are new audio tools on Google Docs that can create listening versions of their document, as well as updated analysis tools for Google leaves to help make the most of their data.
Help me … with everything
Google Workspace says that its new document audio tools will allow users to detect any problem in the writing or flow of their work, giving a completely new perspective on the document.
Described as, “a completely new way of interacting with its content”, users can generate a complete audio version of a document, or a podcast-squeal format that sees two different voices that come and are covering the key points.
Docs is also obtaining a “Refine Me” help tool, which will offer users useful tips and suggestions on how to give life to its content. This could include ways to strengthen an argument, improve the structure of a piece or make the key points clearer, as well as help ensure that the format is consistent at all times.
“The objective is not only to fix the document, but to help you become a more effective communicator over time,” says Google Workspace.
In another place, Google Sheets will soon see a new “Help” tool to help users to travel large amounts of data when they need it.
The company says that the tool will offer guidance to start with a new spreadsheet, in addition to pointing out interesting trends, suggesting the next steps and creating clear and interactive graphics to give life to their data.
Finally, for anyone who needs additional help to update (or listen) to a Video -conference call from Google Meet, Gemini in Meet now will help users to catch up anything they have lost. Its updated Gemini functions will also seek to provide additional clarity at certain points, as well as offer summaries and suggestions on how to improve your point.
“As our world restarts, we are focused on making powerful technology really useful and accessible, and leading it to the flow of your daily work,” said Yulie Kwon Kim, vice president of products, work space.
“This is the AI built for the reality of work today, not a fantasy of the future. Our ads represent the next step to provide useful tools for the work to all.”
