Low flood in Kotri as the Indo is reduced in Guddu

The Indo River continued to experiment a low -level flood in Kotri Barge, while the tickets decreased in Guddu and Sukkur Barrages in the middle of the return of normality in the rivers in Punjab, the flood data provided by irrigation management and disaster management officials on Wednesday.

According to the flood prognosis division, inputs in Kotri increased slightly, but despite this limited increase, there was no increase in subsequent discharges in the last 24 hours. There was also a strong decrease in Guddu bombing, which resulted in reduced entries in Sukkur Barge.

From 6 pm on Tuesday until 6 pm on Wednesday, tickets at Kotri Barge increased by only 3,535 Cusecs. According to the Irrigation Department, the entrances at Kotri Barge stood at 304,388 Cusecs, against departures of 289,098 Cusecs.

In Sukkur Barge, the upstream inputs reached 569,890 CUSECs, with outputs to 518,120 CUSECS, a decrease of 1,910 CUSECs in the last 24 hours, without changes in the outputs. The entries in Guddu Barge were 551,851 CUSEC and exits 523,842 CUSECS – Declace of 53,607 Cusecs.

In Punjab, a spokesman for the Provincial Authority of Disaster Management (PDMA) said that all rivers flowed to normal levels. “The flows in the Indo, Jhelum and Ravi rivers are normal,” said the spokesman.

“The Chenab also flows to normal levels in Marala, Khanki, Qadirabad and Trimmu. The Sutlej River has a medium level flood in Ganda Singh Wala, while Suleimanki and Islam heads are experiencing low -level floods. In DG Khan, the torrents of the hills flow normally.”

In Panjnad, according to PDMA spokesman, a low -level flood persists, with flows that decrease to 194,000 Cusecs. The spokesman added that the district administrations remained on alert in case of any eventuality.

In Islamabad, federal minister Moeen Wattoo confirmed that Panjnad faced low level flood, but emphasized that water levels were falling. “High level floods persist in the Guddu and Sukkur barrels, but Kotri remains at a low level of flooding with stable flows,” he said.

He said that the Tarbela dam has been filled at 100% capacity since August 27, while Mangla Dam is 96% with four remaining storage feet. “The government approach is to evaluate damage and provide relief to the affected population, with accelerated relief efforts.”

Meanwhile, the Punjab PDMA forecast rain in most districts during the next 24 hours, with the 11th monzone rain spell that continue until September 19. He warned about the increase in water flows in Nullahs and Corrientes de Rawalpindi, Murree and Galiyat from September 18 to 19.

According to the PDMA, rain was expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, Gujrat and Sialkot, as well as Nanowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Jhang, Jhang, Jhang, Sargodha, and Mandi Man.
