LWMC to clean the train station

LAHORE:

Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has assumed the control of cleaning operations at Lahore train station as part of the Sushra Punjab initiative of the provincial government.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Railways of Pakistan and the LWMC to guarantee sustained cleaning in one of the most busy transport centers in Pakistan. The agreement aims to provide a hygienic and cozy environment for the thousands of passengers who pass through the station every day.

The firm ceremony was attended by the Secretary of the Local Government of Punjab, Shakeel Ahmed Mian, the executive director of LWMC Offcier Babar Sahib Din and the CEO of Pakistan Railways, Aamir Ali Baloch.

According to the new agreement, the LWMC will implement a dedicated team consisting of a manager, five supervisors and 105 sanitation workers operating in three daily shifts to maintain cleaning throughout the installation.

The scope of the work includes platforms, reservations, waiting rooms, bathrooms, parking areas, railways and administrative offices.

Night shift equipment will also carry out a regular wash of platforms and tracks.

Pakistan Railways’s CEO praised LWMC’s performance in Eidul Azha and cited its modern monitoring systems as a key factor behind the decision to outsource the sanitation of the station.
