Bee Maps, a project on Hivemapper, one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks (Depin) focused on maping data in Solana, shared on Wednesday that it has been associated with the Lyft transport giant to provide more precise mapping data.
The measure underlines the growing role of geospatial intelligence of Crowdsourced in the transport industry, and points out that shared travel companies are resorting to this type of infrastructure to obtain better maps.
Hivemapper allows drivers to contribute to mapping data using dashboards enabled for AI that automatically detect and update real -time changes on roads, such as construction areas or altered road signals, which increases current and precise digital maps.
“For mobility to really work and for autonomy, it becomes a reality, maps cannot be a late occurrence: they need to be Crowdsourced, live, precise and open,” said Ariel Seidman, CEO and co -founder of Bee Maps, in a press release with Coindesk. “We are proud to build a true innovative as Lyft with space intelligence at the constantly updated street level that allows its vision.”
Bee Maps is an application built on the Hivemapper network, which is part of the Depin movement (decentralized physical infrastructure networks), which takes advantage of blockchain incentives to recruit the development of real world infrastructure. In the case of Bee Maps, taxpayers get cryptographic rewards to collect images at street level using Hivemapper cameras. These data are processed with AI to extract important characteristics, such as road signals, lane brands and construction areas, which are continually updated on the platform.
The movement between Lyft and Bee maps occurs when Natix, another Mapeo Depin project in Solana, shared that it has been associated with the taxi service, to offer better mapping technologies.

Correction (May 14, 2025, 16:02 UTC): He clarified about the relationship between bees maps and Hivemapper throughout history, and changed the Hed to reflect that Lyft took advantage of Hivemapper, not bees maps.
