Richardson tried to make a ridiculous dunk but couldn’t get the ball over the side of the backboard. He was trapped and fell backwards onto the court.
“I’m fine,” he said afterward, via the Orlando Sentinel. “I tried to do a little 360-degree turn from the side of the glass, (but) my arm got caught on the side of the board.”

He was able to complete the second dunk attempt after the fall. He earned a total score of 88.8 and it was not enough to take him to the final. He and Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes did not advance to the next round.
Keshad Johnson of the Miami Heat won the competition over San Antonio Spurs rookie Carter Bryant. Johnson started his dunk behind the scorer’s table and came out from the free throw line. He threw a dunk with just one hand.
Bryant did a between-the-legs dunk on his first attempt, earning him perfect scores, but his second dunk required too many attempts to complete, ultimately costing him the victory.
