Recent episodes of Main nahi hoon mantle It has fans who raise their eyebrows about the apparently problematic accumulation of the romance of the program among the main characters. Public opinion argues that mantle (Humayun Saeed) and Mehmal (Sajal Ali) should not be romantically involved with each other.
The program follows the story of Mehmal, a girl from a violent and patriarchal family who struggles to obtain higher education against her father’s wishes. At the University, he meets the quiet professor of writer-economic, mantle, who shares his name with the legendary writer.
Although it is not explicitly shown, the program is hinting at a romance between Mehmal and Manto. In a scene, Mehmal’s aunt makes fun of her for falling in love with her teacher by pointing out how much she talks about him, hinting at a romantic attraction. In another scene, mantle grabs Mehmal’s hand and tries to save her from her cousin Farhaad (Azaan Sami Khan) that pursues her strongly. He is later beaten by Farhaad’s guards for her.
Fans are disappointed by the election of Sajal and Humayun script that is one of the edge of normalizing such dynamics. An Instagram user wrote: “I don’t understand how A-Listers agree to make shit like this, do you not read scripts?”
Another Sajal-Stan commented on his Instagram: “He expected a better script of you.” 
Despite the high -budget filmography of the program and good performance, fans could not look beyond writing, “although mantle is a great character, I cannot shake the strange feeling that a student and teacher have a romantic relationship (plus 20+ age GAP)”, read a YouTube comment. “I really hope Mehmal and his fiance (or Farhaad) join.”
Some pointed out the respect demanded by a student-maestro relationship. “The heroines who have not studied at the university would not know the respect that teachers have,” he said a YouTube comment. “Students also have their own dignity, teachers are their spiritual parents. A script so poor in which Sajal worked.” 
Another was simply surprised by how wrong this dynamic is. “No family will send their daughter to the male teachers in this way,” said Instagram’s comment. “And if they do, then teachers and students will begin to see each other from this lens, shame in this drama. Everyone should inform this type of script, since they will destroy pure relationships and make people get dirty from mind.” 
The show is written by Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar and directed by Nadeem Baig. It is being distributed by Six Sigma Plus and Next Level Entertainment and is transmitted in Ary Digital. The drama presents a cast full of stars with Humayun and Sajal taking the front and Sanam Saeed, Asif Raza Mir, Saba Hamid, Saba Faisal, Saima Noor and Azaan Sami Khan in support roles.
