Kuala Lumpur: The Islamic International University of Malaysia (IIUM) on Tuesday conferred an honorary title of PhD in Philosophy in Leadership and Government in Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in recognition of his pending leadership and contributions to the construction of the nation.

The confermentation of the Honor Title was carried out in a special call ceremony held at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization of the Kuala Lumpur IIUM Campus, which was officiated by the Constitutional Chief of the University, Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Máimunah Iskandariah.

At the invitation of his counterpart in Malaysia, Prime Minister Shehbaz is on an official three -day visit to Malaysia, in which he met Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and made conversations at the level of delegation, in addition to addressing an investment conference.

A day earlier, the two countries had signed six agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation that covers different areas, including education, halic, tourism and corruption combination.

In his acceptance speech today, Prime Minister Shehbaz described confermentation as a “great privilege and honor”, emphasizing his delight to be associated with IIUM, an institution recognized for defending the integration of knowledge, faith and ethics.

Remembering his periods as the main minister of Punjab, he highlighted his four decades service as a “public servant” and pointed out that, now as prime minister, he was still committed to serving the Nation with sincerity and unwavering resolution.

Recognizing the honor with “sincere gratitude,” said the hope that his presence in IIUM would further strengthen academic associations and collaboration between the university and the main higher learning institutions of Pakistan.

The prime minister said that leadership was a sacred confidence that should be exercised with honesty, sincerity, justice and transparent responsibility.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the Muslim UMMAH, requested unity, compassion and moral integrity and emphasized the need to firmly maintain Islamic values ​​and ethics to claim their legitimate place in the community of the nations.

He called the youth population of Pakistan a blessing and stressed the responsibility of providing platforms to serve humanity with compassion and commitment.

In his direction, Tunku Azizah said that for more than four decades, [Shehbaz] Sharif had demonstrated visionary leadership, discipline and compassion, dedicated to transforming lives and encouraging communities through advances in education, medical care and opportunities.

“His initiatives, such as the Punjab education endowment, have opened the doors of higher education to thousands that have never dreamed of university education.
