According to the reports, the Detroit Pistons guard, Malik Beasley, was under a federal investigation into play accusations linked to the NBA games and support bets.

Beasley’s lawyer Steve Haney spoke about the reported investigation.

“An investigation is not a position,” Haney told ESPN. “Malik has the same right as the presumption of innocence as any other person under the constitution of the United States. From now on, he has not been accused of anything.”

The accusations against Beasley did not meet immediately.

“We are cooperating with the investigation of federal prosecutors,” said NBA spokesman Mike Bass to Pak Gazette Digital.

Pak Gazette Digital contacted the Pistons to comment.

Beasley played the 82 games for the Pistons last season, starting 18 of them. Averaged 16.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. It was his first season with Detroit and ESPN reported that the two parties arrested the extension negotiations of the contract when the investigation was revealed.

He has played nine seasons in the NBA, spending time with the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks.
