Man of tomorrow It is the next DC Universe (DCU) project that will be led by the co -president of DC Studios James Gunn. A GUNN’S FOLLOW -UP Superman Film, but not a direct sequel per se, is currently scheduled to arrive on July 9, 2027.
Its theatrical launch is still a couple of years away, but now it is such a good time as any other to discover everything we know about Superman 2. Fortunately for you, this guide contains the most recent information, plus rumors or two strangers, about your potential cast, plot and more.

As I mentioned earlier, Man of tomorrow is ready to fly to cinemas in July 9, 2027. That means that its eventual launch will mark two years from the Superman The movie took the flight.
That does not give Gunn the company a long time to ensure that the new DCU film meets its release date. Being realistic, the main photography will have to start at the beginning of 2026 to ensure that its launch is not delayed.
Fortunately, Gunn has already completed the work in the first script (according to his thread account) and is now refining the script. Meanwhile, the considerable team of the film should be able to start preproduction work so that the cameras can start shooting as soon as possible.

Man of tomorrowThe official cast has not yet been announced. However, there are three actors from Superman Who, based on its social media activity around the announcement of the sequel, would expect to see in it:
- David Korenswet as Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman
- Nicholas Hault as Lex Luthor
- Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl
Like Gunn, Korenswet and Hault, they went to social networks on September 3 to reveal the Name and release date of chapter one of DCU. With Supes and Luthor taking the center of the stage in works of art created by several DC comics artists to help with revelation (see Instagram images up and down for confirmation), it is inevitable that these two actors are involved.
With regard to Merced, she shared Gunn’s publication in her Instagram history (thanks to Reddit for screen capture) together with the legend “see you Soon [sic]”That implies a lot that she will also be part of the cast.
If Merced Hawkgirl appears, it is very likely that his gang members: Guy Gardner/Green Lantern of Nathan Fillion and Michael Holt/MR. Fantastic – it will do it too. Maxwell Lord de Sean Gunn, also known as the corporate founder and financial of the Justice Gang, can also appear later.
Surely there will be more familiar faces in Man of tomorrow. Lois Lane de Rachel Brosnahan, Jimmy Olsen of Skyler Gisondo and other daily employees of the planet should return. Meanwhile, Kara-Zor the/Supergirl of Milly Alcock, who is also Superman’s cousin, could be part of the procedures. Finally, a newcomer to the big screen could be Aaron Pierre, who represents the green lantern John Stewart on the next DCU television program FlashlightsAn original HBO Max that will arrive at the beginning of 2026.
Pierre responded to Gunn’s Instagram publication about the announcement of the film, and Gunn then responded to Pierre’s comment (see the screen capture of his previous exchange). Does this suggest that Pierre’s Stewart will be in Superman 2? Do not rule it out.
Man of Tomorrow Story Speculation

Shocking anyone Man of tomorrow It still does not have an official plot report. However, there are certain things that we can read in its probable story, starting with how Superman term.
In the final act of that film, Lex Luthor was defeated by Clark Kent (with a little help from Krypto) and took Belle Reve prison to answer for his crimes. The main level charges against him are his covert operations that include making an evil clone of Kal-El, creating a pocket universe to imprison his detractors, and then use that alternative dimension to open a multiverse crack that could have destroyed the entire planet. So, you know, a typical day in the life of the largest archimesis of Supes.
This is not the last thing we have seen from Luthor. As the Trio of Instagram publications suggests in this article, we could see Luthor build or acquire its war suit/power armor/whatever you want to call it. In fact, we could also see him form a restless alliance with Superman to face a common enemy, they have been frantic in comics many times, before, in the true Luthor style, betraying the man of steel. That is not the only hypothesis of the important fans that circulated online after the next Superman Saga film was announced.
In the Superman Subnet, a theorist proposed Luthor de Hault being the protagonist of this film or, at least, sharing co-embryo duties with the Kryptonian iconic of Korenswet. The nickname of ‘Man of Tomorrow’ is generally associated with Superman, but Luthor has pronounced those words in the comics and even described himself as the ‘Man of tomorrow’, which is how he looks at himself (that is, someone who aims to make the world a better and safer place in his eyes), in some live action adaptations. It is plausible, then, that this film could be referring to it, instead of Supes.
As of September 2025, there is little more that we know about the next Gunn big screen project.
However, it is worth noting that Pacifier Season 2, which is three weeks after its execution of eight episodes (at the time of the original publication of this article), “directly” will be established Man of tomorrow‘S History. That is according to Gunn, who said it when he responded to a fan on Instagram (thanks to Reddit for the capture).
