Rawalpindi:
The Traffic Police in Rawalpindi has presented a FIR against a businessman under the Law of Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PCA), 2016 for allegedly publishing a “deceptive video” with respect to the elimination of cars parked in violation of the rules, which increases concerns about the improper use of the country’s cyber law.
A FIR has been registered at the Bajo Peca Acantonation Police Station, 2016 for the complaint of the Traffic Police of the Imran Sikandar Traffic Police. According to Sikander, he and his staff found a video on Tiktok, published by the story of a Rizwan singer.
The video showed an incorrect car that rose outside Hussain cars in Cashmiro Road in the city of Garrison. A ticket of the rape had been issued.
However, the Signed said that the video was misleading.
“The owner of the Hussain cars allegedly created and distributed a misleading and malicious video to encourage public hatred and agitation against the police. These actions are considered a crime under the PCA law, 2016,” said the FIR. Police have initiated investigation.
The Government in January modified PCA 2016 in the midst of the protest of journalist organizations.
Recently, there was a case against a citizen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the law of cyber crimes for questioning the integrity of the Official Committee of Avistation of the Moon. Previously, only the FIA was empowered to register cases under Peca, 2016.
