Reading a letter sent by a listener, her daughter Jess said, “Every time my mother-in-law comes over, she acts like I stole her son.”
Sharing her thoughts on the situation, Carol said: ‘It’s hard because everyone’s children say, you know, they’re your children and… a woman comes along and they take your child.
‘But I’m a little bit different because I actually hold back for that reason. “I always think that when the girl comes into our family, many of us feel a little overwhelming, so it seems that I hold back a little.”
At this point, Jess also shared that she hated the narrative that her mother was an “evil mother-in-law” because it’s far from the truth.
“It’s not like me at all, I’m the complete opposite,” Carol explained before admitting that she would intervene to “protect” her son if necessary.
It comes after Mark and Michelle celebrated their first Christmas as a family of three with their daughter Palma.
The couple welcomed their first child together in March of this year.
