Geno Auriemma hit the NCAA tournament system while preparing the Uconn Huskies for their Sweet 16 game against the Oklahoma Sooners.
The women’s basketball tournament moved to two regional sites in 2023, which means that this season the semifinals and regional finals will take place in Birmingham, Alabama or Spokane, Washington.
Eight teams are crowded on each regional site.

The Final Four Four culminates in Tampa, Florida, next month.
Auriemma expressed his disdain for the two regional during a press conference, saying “ruined the game.”
“Half of the country does not have the opportunity to reach a game in person. But you are winning billions on television. Well, in reality, you are not. That would be the male tournament,” he said, through ESPN. “So, yes, there are many problems that need to solve. And, again, we could get our A-Beat tomorrow and that will not change my feelings.”
Auriemma added that “in a normal world, led by normal people, there would only be four teams here.”
“There are many people in the female basketball community who think they are smarter than [how they run things in men’s basketball]”

The Huskies concluded their origin schedule at the Gampel Pavilion on Monday in Storrs, Connecticut. Then, the team had to fly to Spokane, Washington, for the next round of the tournament. If the team wins in the Spokane Regional, it flies to Tampa.
Due to the number of equipment, Auriemma said your team will have to wake up at 5 am local time for a half -hour shot at 7:30 pm
The auriemma team has been accustomed to strange travel situations.
Last year, the team went from playing in Storrs to play in Portland, Oregon, regional and then Four Four in Cleveland. In 2023, the team went from Storrs to Seattle before losing in regional semifinals.
