Eight militants were killed and a soldier was martyred during multiple operations based on intelligence (IBO) carried out by security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the wing of military media said on Monday.

According to Public Relations between Services (ISPR), the operations attacked the alleged terrorist elements in the districts of Waziristan del Norte, Waziristan del Sur, Khyber and Bannu.

In the area of ​​Mir Ali in northern Waziristan, three militants were killed when the troops “effectively compromised” their location. In a separate operation in South Waziristan, two more militants were neutralized.

However, during the exchange of fire, Naik Mujahid Khan, 40, a resident of Kohat, hugged martyrdom. ISPR described him as a “brave son of soil” who “fought gallantly and paid the last sacrifice.”

There were two additional commitments in the districts of Khyber and Bannu, where three more militants died. The security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives of the sites. ISPR said the militants were involved in attacks against security personnel and civilians.

“Disinfection operations are ongoing to eliminate the remaining terrorists in the area,” he said, added: “Pakistan security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers even more strengthen our resolution.”
