The panorama of university sports is very different from what it was only a few years ago in the middle of athletes who paid.
With unbridled null agreements, athletes now choose and choose schools simply depending on where they can get more profits, and at least one team is already hurt.
Maryland’s leadership coach Mike Locksley admitted that during season 4-8 of the Terps, his worst since 2019, he had “lost my costumes” only because the players received payments.

“I own the fact that I lost my wardrobe. And this is the coach locks, the king of the boxes, telling you this landscape, I had to choose between paying the young players who entered or rewarded the oldest players who have passed through the fire, three victories in the bowl, and I tried to do both things with limited resources. And that is what you get: a costume No, “Claksley said this week this week.
Locksley is not a rookie in university sports. He is entering his seventh season in Maryland and the tenth in general. However, he is a rookie in the null era, and has had to make some changes.

“Sales from my wardrobe 1753281684 And I have a sign that says: “Leave your Louis belts, leave your financial statements and the keys of your car outside this costume, because here we will all pay the same price for success or failure,” Locksley continued. “If I have to put my desk in that costume, I will do it. A valuable lesson learned.”
“I call this a year of vulnerability to me, because I have been torn about what to say about our team when people ask; but I don’t know what type of team we still have,” he added. “Some people, like coach, it’s like something bad to say: ‘I don’t know’. But it’s good that I don’t know.”
The Terrapins had won three consecutive bowl games in so many previous seasons, combining to go 23-16 from 2021 to 2023. Locksley had completely changed a program that was 3-9 in its first season there.
