Matthew Golden came to live the dream in April when he heard his name called in the NFL draft, but had a dream more to achieve.

Godlen was selection 23 in the NFL 2025 draft and landed with the Green Bay Packers, becoming the first open receiver of the selected team in the first round since 2002. As an additional advantage, he obtained an exciting ovation when the stage climbed, since the Draft was fair outside of Lambeau Field.

“It was a crazy atmosphere. Fans in general: it is different in Green Bay. The fans of the packers are so genuine, and they really love Green Bay. I can say for energy in practice. It is a great place to be and makes me want to practice. They are out there in practice giving us juice and energy. It’s really great,” Golden said in a recent interview with Pak Gazette Digital.

It has been a whirlwind of a low season for Golden. Just after his last season in Texas ended in the semifinals of university American football playoffs, he had to grind almost immediately for the draft. Then came the rookie camp, the OTA, the mini -family and now the training camp. Essentially, he has not really been off in approximately one year.

But Golden knew what he enrolled for.

“It’s all that I dreamed when I was a child, it was to get to the NFL, go to the draft … I felt that the whole process, I definitely took it and enjoyed it. Now I am in a great organization where I can play football to have fun.”

However, being recruited was not his “greatest achievement.”

That was a promise that made himself when he was a child, when he decided to give back his family that he had fought during his education. When Golden was 12 years old, he and his family lost the property of their grandmother’s house.

“I always got caught that I would like to do something good for my family, which was to recover that property.”

Shortly after being recruited, Golden said that the first thing he would do with his new money would be to buy a house from his grandmother. He could not obtain the exact property due to his current condition, but with the help of Re/Max, he obtained a nearby house in Houston.

“It was great. Just seeing my grandmother’s face when I told him that the house was his, he had many emotions, man. It was a great time for me.

“She is living well, man.”

Golden surprised his grandmother with the house on July 10. She celebrated her new patio and took out a “wardrobe.”

It has been a first level 2025 for Golden, but there is still a goal to achieve.

“As a team, we always talk about obtaining the Lombardi trophy. That is the question sign that we have in a team room,” he said. “And I feel that for us every day, that is what we are trying to achieve. We are improving offensive and defensively. We are pushing each other. We all know what the final objective is, and that is the Super Bowl. That is what we are chasing.”
