The Los Angeles Rams Field Marshal Matthew Stafford, should be ready for the opening of Sunday’s home against the Houston Texans, according to Chief coach Sean McVay.
There were questions about Stafford’s health during the low season, since a rear ailment made it slower than the rest of his Rams teammates. But McVay hopes that Stafford, as well as the left Tackle Alaric Jackson, will be available for week 1.
Stafford lost all the training camp due to an aggravated album on its back.
He received an epidural injection to relieve pain, and was not a full practice participant until August 18.

But since he returned, Stafford has not had any setback, which makes his chief coach feel sure that the 37 -year -old skills face a hard Texans team to start the new season.
However, McVay has not been as worried as fans throughout this Stafford situation.

“I thought he did a good job today,” McVay told journalists on August 18. “We had 26 team plays, and did a good job when I managed the group. I thought the field saw well. I thought where the ball should go, and today there was a good competitive job on both sides.”
The Rams have been taking things cautiously with the former general selection number 1 of Georgia, saying that at the time the situation was “very fluid” because they did not mean with certainty that week 1 would be available.
Now that the season is about to start, McVay made that designation and the Rams are ready to roll.

Los Angeles hopes to defend their NFC West title a year ago, surpassing the Seattle Seahawks for a tiebreaker despite having a record of 10-7 at the end of the regular season.
A key to doing so is having a healthy staff in the center throughout the season. McVay and the rest of the Rams understand how important Stafford is with their hopes of the Super Bowl.
Stafford launched for 3,762 yards with 20 touchdowns eight interceptions in 16 games last season. It had a 65.8% completion rate in its 16th NFL season.
While his main objective, Puka Nacua, remains in his group, there is a new look at the open receiver when Davante Adams fills the void left by Cooper Kupp, who was changed to the rival Seahawks this low season.

Stafford’s backup this season is Jimmy Garoppolo, who would replace him at a time of need for McVay.
