Meghan Markle and Prince Harry raise their voices against AI.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shed more light on the drawbacks of artificial intelligence, as the couple strive to save the human race.
Their statement reads: “We call for a ban on the development of superintelligence, which will not be lifted before there is broad scientific consensus that it will be done in a safe and controllable manner, and strong public acceptance.”
Speaking further about superintelligence, the pair highlight several problems that can arise from artificial intelligence “ranging from human obsolescence and economic disempowerment, loss of freedom, civil liberties, dignity and control, to risks to national security and even possible human extinction.”
Harry further added in a note: “The future of AI should serve humanity, not replace it. I believe the true test of progress will not be how fast we move, but how wisely we steer. There is no second chance.”
