Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will have a ‘refuge’ if they leave the US

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking for alternative options in case Donald Trump destroys their future prospects in the United States.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex apparently have a “safe haven” in Portugal if they are required to leave their California mansion.

Royal expert Jennie Bond says: “They now have a retreat in Portugal. It’s probably much more than a retreat – it’s certainly a very beautiful property and was perhaps acquired by Eugenie’s husband Jack.”

“So if things get messy or uncomfortable in America, Europe can see a little more of Harry and Meghan and their children. However, I guess they’ll let the dust settle and see how things develop; they seem very happy in their Californian lifestyle and I’m sure they don’t want to disturb their children unnecessarily.

This comes as Donald Trump declared that he will not protect Prince Harry once he becomes President of the United States.

She told Express US: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be alone if it were up to me.”
