Meghan Markle faced brutal criticism following her recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week, with one royal expert calling the trip a “humiliating failure.”
The Duchess of Sussex attended Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2026 show but was mocked online for her catwalk-style exit, stiff poses and an awkward moment with creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli.
A video she shared later showed her relaxing in a limousine near the site of Princess Diana’s tragic death, which sparked further backlash for being in poor taste.
talking to the express, Royal commentator Lee Cohen called the outing “an absolute disaster.”
He said: “Showing up to the Balenciaga show in that ill-fitting white suit, strutting around like you’re auditioning for a bad supermodel parody, is all so fake and forced, like you’re trying too hard to play the part of a fashion icon but it ends up being the punchline.
“Video of his exit from the show has been trashed online, and rightly so; his awkward poses, stiff walk reminiscent of Zoolander’s oversized ego, and clumsy interaction with the creative director scream inauthenticity,” the expert added.
“This was not a triumph; it was a humiliating failure that underscores his weakened star power and inability to read the room.”
