Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand is once again under intense public scrutiny after internet sleuths uncovered shocking inventory figures, sparking speculation about the business.
The Duchess of Sussex, who launched her lifestyle brand in collaboration with Netflix, has had several launches but there was a recurring problem: there was never enough stock.
Collections would sell out within minutes, leaving fans and experts wondering if it was a genuine concern or simply inventory was staying low.
One Reddit user discovered that there were “approximately $23 million worth of products” that Meghan has not yet sold and are simply sitting in inventory. 80,386 jars of floral confections, 137,455 exclusive gift boxes of fruit spreads and 62,523 exclusive candles in stock on the website.
A source said the sun that the share order appears to be “part of the international expansion plan” that Meghan has for her business.
There are plans for As Ever to expand to other countries outside the United States, including Britain. The insider noted that the holiday collection had been a success, so the warehouse may have been “reinforced” to meet new demands once they reach international territories.
When the outlet contacted the spokesperson for comment, he declined.
The source insisted that “it’s fair to say the business is not only successful, it’s flying off the shelves,” noting that As Ever’s founder had a million jars for one product and only 130,000 remained.
“It doesn’t take a genius to realize that 87 percent of what was ordered has been sold.”
