The Kansas City Chargers and Los Angeles gathered in São Paulo, Brazil, Friday in the second NFL game of the 2025 season.
But only a few hours before the last game of the NFL International Series began, the Chargers announced that the offensive liner Mekhi Becton appeared as questionable due to a disease.
The Chargers did not offer details about the nature of the disease Becton was experiencing. On Saturday, the winner of the Super Bowl resorted to social networks to reveal more about what he could have contributed to his apparent visit to the hospital.

“Do not eat rice and beans in Brazil Bro,” Becton wrote in an Instagram stories publication about a photo of what seemed to be an IV bag and a heart monitor machine in a hospital room, the screenshots shared in X showed.

Before starting Friday’s game, NFL Network reported that Becton was not included in the final list of inactive players.

The chargers finally surpassed the Chiefs. The 27-21 victory also put an end to the losing streak of seven chargers games against their enemy of the West Division of the AFC.
The New York Jets drafted Becton in the first round of the NFL 2020 Draft. He left the jets after the 2023 season. Becton and the Philadelphia Eagles reached an agreement on a one -year contract in 2024.
He started 15 games in the guard position last season and won his first Super Bowl title with the Eagles. The Chargers signed Becton for a two -year contract in the low season.

Betcon did not participate in some of the low season programs due to an unleashed injury. He was finally authorized to resume football activities at the end of August. The Chargers listed Betcon as the initial right guard that enters the regular season.
The chargers will face another divisional opponent, the Las Vegas Raiders, in week 2. While the Chiefs will welcome the Super Bowl Eagles defender champion on September 14.
