Melinda French Gates reflected on how the raising of children has shaped her link with her daughter.

The author and philanthropist, who launched his new book called The next dayHe talked about how motherhood changed his life and shared advice to his eldest daughter, Jennifer, who also became the mother of two children, Leila, 2 and mine, 5.

In an extract of shared memory with TimesMelinda wrote a detailed note about what she learned about being a “enough mother” after becoming a mother and told her daughter to follow as a mother.

“Whatever this trip brings you, Jenn, I hope you remember, my love, for your good and that of your children, which exactly who you are is exactly what they need,” the businesswoman went directly to Jennifer in the book.

“Much more than enough,” Melinda added.
