Metaplenet, based in Tokyo, is forming a strategic board of advisors with Eric Trump as one of those named, since the company continues to stimulate the adoption of Bitcoin (BTC), according to a press release on Friday.
“We are honored to welcome Eric Trump as the first member of our Strategic Advisors Board and we hope to welcome our Annual Meeting,” said Simon Gervich, representative director of Metaplenet Inc, in the statement.
“His commercial insight, the love for the community of Bitcoin and the perspective of global hospitality will be invaluable to accelerate Metaplanet’s vision of becoming one of the main Bitcoin Treasury companies in the world.”
The recently established Board will include voices, speakers and influential thinking leaders, although Metaplanet did not share details.
Trump, son of President Donald Trump, has become a key figure in recent months, mainly after his ties with World Liberty Financial, a Trump cryptographic company was launched in September 2024. Since then, he has publicly supported Bitcoin and Ethher (Eth) that he invests in X.
Metaplenet has more than 3,200 BTC starting Friday, after its last purchase reported on March 18 when they acquired additional 150 BTC for approximately 1.8 billion yen (around $ 12.5 million at that time).
