Miami hurricanes: Carson Beck’s girlfriend intervenes in the transfer decision

Carson Beck made the surprise decision to give up an NFL search and play at least one more year of university football when he decided to transfer from Georgia to Miami.

On the surface, the transfer made sense. Beck is dating Miami Hurricanes’ female basketball star, Hanna Cavier, and being closer to the person with whom he is involved seemed to be obvious. However, Cavier insisted that he did not play any role in bringing Beck to “the U.”

“Obviously, the University of Miami is an incredible campus. And I think it was the best decision for him. I think he will love the university,” he told ESPN. “Obviously, I love Miami, so I will stay here … I’m very excited by him and be able to see him play.”

Cavarer said he really didn’t need to convince Beck to fly south and added that he had no eligibility of the NCAA when Beck begins to play football.
