Michael B. Jordan is riding high with his first Golden Globe nomination and has even more exciting news for fans looking forward to his next big projects.
While celebrating the milestone, the actor offered a new update on the long-awaited sequel. I am legend 2, confirming that the film is still very much alive, it just won’t arrive as soon as some expect.
Speaking at a recent sinners At the joint Juke event, Jordan shared that the project is still underway, but it has made a little more progress.
He is currently focused on the post-production of his second work as a director after the enormous box office success of Creed IIIwhich earned more than $276 million worldwide.
His next film behind the camera is The Thomas Crown Affaira new version of the elegant art theft classic.
Meanwhile, in April, Will Smith revealed new details about Jordan’s role in I am legend 2adding clarity for fans still curious about how the story continues.
Smith confirmed that the sequel follows the alternate ending of the 2007 original, the version in which his character, Dr. Robert Neville, survives.
He explained that they once considered a prequel before changing plans completely after a key creative idea from screenwriter Akiva Goldsman.
“What we were going to do was the prequel, so we were going to do the prequel… And [Akiva Goldsman] “It was like, but wait, what if we do a remake of the alternate ending, where your character is still alive and you know, Michael B. Jordan’s character is currently the head of a new settlement… He’s not my son… So there’s a deal in Connecticut,” he shared, according to ScreenRant.
Fans can also expect Jordan to bring plenty of energy to The Thomas Crown Affair.
He has promised that this new version will capture the same charm, sensuality and suspense that made Steve McQueen’s 1968 film and Pierce Brosnan and René Russo’s 1999 remake so popular.
But this new vision promises even more advantages. He says there will be “increased risks, twists and turns.”
With a first-time Golden Globe, a big sequel in the works, and a stylish heist adventure on the way, Michael B. Jordan clearly isn’t slowing down and audiences have a lot to look forward to.
