- Microsoft reveals a new 5G surface portable computer
- Commercial customers directed with reliable in motion connectivity
- There are three editions available, with open orders now
Microsoft has presented a new edition of its surface laptop specifically designed with commercial users in mind, since it looks for a stronger support point in the business hardware market.
The new Surface 5G portable computer presents an AI processing with a neural processing unit (NPU) and Intel Core Ultra (series 2), the useful life of the day battery and an integrated 5G modem to stay connected to collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365.
There will be three different commercial portable computer models available, with a flagship edition enabled for 5G that looks a 13.8 -inch screen available from August 26, joined by editions of 13 inches and 12 inches, which are now available.

Microsoft says that launches are presented as adding 5G to the laptop of surface has become “one of the most requested features of our commercial customers.”
The addition must mean greater support and more reliable connections for videoconference calls when they are out, or for workers in the field that need to contact the rest of their equipment.
To guarantee constant connectivity, Microsoft says that the new Surface 5G portable computer has a “dynamic antenna system” that continuously adjusts to its environment, using six antennas to automatically adjust signal routes and feeding depending on how the device is maintained or uses.
The company says that these antennas are placed higher than what are generally found in other laptop devices, reducing interference and allowing a stronger connection through a multiple laminate completely designed for the device.
You can also change between Wi-Fi and 5G networks depending on the location, making sure that the user stays connected and can act as a mobile access point where Wi-Fi is not available, with the options of Nanosim and ESIM also available.
Microsoft says it tested devices with more than 100 mobile operators in 50 countries, together with real -world business environments, which means that IT administrators can implement and deliver updates and enforce company policies, where its users are.
This is also helped by the surface management portal within the Intunea Administration Center, which can provide visibility on health, compliance and use of the device, and thanks to the backup, administrators can use tools with AI to act quickly to detect problems, evaluate the risk and respond accurately.
“5G laptop surface represents the end of Microsoft end in action,” wrote Nancie Gasta de Microsoft in a blog post that announces the launch.
“Hardware, software and cloud services come together to offer intelligent, safe and connected experiences for the current mobile workforce. The surface for the business portfolio offers a complete solution for each user scenario, from the flexibility of the tablets first to high -performance laptops, all admitted by Microsoft’s modern security and the leading security of the industry.
