- Windows 11 has a new preview with some intelligent additions
- One of them is a new piece of the interface to facilitate the exchange of files
- The other is a couple of new and tidy designs for a part of the start menu.
Windows 11 should obtain some useful changes in its interface, one of which facilitates file sharing, and the other presents new ingenious design options for the start menu.
These movements are in tests at this time, to be precise in the compilation of Windows 11 22635.4950, which is on the Beta channel.
The new file exchange menu appears at the top of the screen every time it drags a file from a folder on the desktop, and presents a variety of icons, such as WhatsApp, my phone, Microsoft equipment, etc. Dropping a file on any icon will share it instantly through that medium.
As for the start menu, that change is for the page ‘All applications’ that, as its name suggests, lists all its applications, with the new options here being the views of the network and the category.
The view of the grid adheres to an alphabetical order of its applications, as in the standard list view, except with the design of the grid, it can fit more applications with the extended design to one side, so there is less displacement by do (see the image below).
Or a more different alternative is the category view where its applications are grouped into several categories and are ordered by levels of use. So, for example, there are social applications, productivity or entertainment applications, a lot of categories in which it can be immersed, with its most used applications highlighted in a box with its icons (again, see the photo below).
This feature is still being implemented, so not all testers will still see it (and is reaching development compilations, as well as the Beta Canal).
That is more or less for this pre -view compilation, although there is one more addition in the accessibility front with the file explorer that is liked with an improved support for the text scale with the open or saving of file dialog boxes ( and also with assistant dialog boxes).
Ah, and Microsoft has also applied a series of error corrections, while there are some recognized problems, which are listed in the usual blog publication that describes the Build content 22635.4950.
Analysis: almost through the tests now
Of course, all this is only in the tests, and if trying any given element does not work, that characteristic can be eliminated. However, I imagine it is unlikely, since both new presentations are useful and welcome touches.
The easier file exchange has to be good, and I can not see anyone arguing with more options in the start menu designs. After all, if you do not want the ‘all applications’ panel to look different from the predetermined list, you do not need to approach the alternatives.
It is also worth taking into account that after having reached the beta channel, these characteristics are not far from its launch now. There is only one more step, the final tests in the launch preview channel, before this functionality is ready to be implemented in the finished version of Windows 11.
In fact, the movement with the start menu designs was previously discovered by digging in the compilations of tests in the past, so it is good to see that the fruit is reached (the warnings mentioned above taken).
