- Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1 licenses for non -profit organizations are no longer free
- 300 free licenses for Microsoft 365 Business Basic are offered
- Other subscriptions could see discounts of up to 75%
Microsoft has confirmed that you will finish the free Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1 for non -profit organizations in what you are calling an effort to “optimize [its] Grant offerings and simplify [its] Grant Portfolio “.
Instead of the despised scheme, the technological giant will offer a certain amount of free licenses along with a high discount on other plans, including M365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1.
Those who are not willing to benefit from the discount and start paying a subscription rate will lose access to some of the characteristics to which they may have become accustomed to their free licenses.
Non -profit organizations will no longer receive some free subscription benefits from Microsoft 365
The company confirms that it will replace the scheme with one that allows non -profit organizations to receive up to 300 licenses for Microsoft 365 Business Basic. Eligible users can also choose 75% discounts on other subscriptions, including Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1.
If a non -profit organization is small enough to be able to use the 300 free licenses for Business Basic, it will still lose access to desktop versions of office applications and other features such as intuit, therefore, they must pay to restore those characteristics.
Despite the high discount, some non -profit organizations may face unexpected costs, especially for the characteristics they must now pay. Being that the nature of non -profit organizations is that finance can be limited, the company has been criticized for its short -term notification period.
Redmond added: “Our objective in technology for social impact (TSI) is to ensure that non -profit organizations can benefit from leading industry solutions that are critical to guarantee the highest level of organizational security and productivity.”
It is not clear what type of cost savings, the company expects to make this readjustment or how many non -profit organizations will be affected.
