- Microsoft starts the new Windows 365 plus disaster recovery option
- Recovery can be 8 times faster than disaster recovery in the cross region
- Administrators can select their favorite region for sovereignty
Microsoft has sought to increase its data recovery options for users with the launch of a new Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus (DRP) offer.
The updated tool is designed for users who require a recovery of high performance disasters, so it focuses on faster recovery times, lower risks of data loss and preinalized capacity.
Working like the cross -region disaster recovery solution, disaster recovery is more replicated by PC disk snapshots in the cloud in an alternative region.
Microsoft adds an even more powerful disaster recovery option
“When activated, users will point to a PC in the temporary cloud. During an interruption, the user will have access to their PC in the temporary cloud with all installed applications and configurations based on the last restoration point, “Windows 365 Cross-Region Disess Recovery (CRDR), the main Doug Coombs Product Manager.
However, the PC in the temporary cloud only serves to provide affected users access to previously restored files, and does not act as a replacement for its primary system, which means that “applications, data or other information will not be preserved”; Instead, users are urged to save work for Ondive or SharePoint.
In a practical guide, confirmed coomb users can choose between any geography or region that Windows 365 is available for their alternative region, allowing administrators to consider other factors such as data sovereignty.
“Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus provides improved disaster recovery capabilities, as a shorter recovery time (RTO), pre -elrated capacity and a shorter recovery point (RPO) target compared to the disaster recovery of the Windows 365 interra region,” he added.
PC tenants in the cloud with up to 50,000 PC in the cloud in a region can expect recovery within four hours with CRDR, compared to less than 30 minutes for DRP.
Windows 365 Disaster Recovery Plus is available in preview as a license complement for Windows 365 Enterprise Edition only, but will generally be available in spring.
