- Microsoft inverted introduced an error to ID
- The error prevented users from initiating in different Azure services
- Now it has been resolved, but users are not happy
Microsoft has solved a problem in its authenticator service in ID that prevented users from starting session in different Azure cloud services. The problem arose from the synchronized synchronization of SSO and Microsoft enters Connect, which caused DNS authentication failures.
On its Azure status website, Microsoft explained that it recently made changes that caused DNS resolution failures for autologon domain.microsftazuread.sso.com. The fault prevented customers from accessing Azure services between 17:18 UTC and 18:35 UTC on February 25, 2025.
“As part of a cleaning effort to eliminate duplicate IPV6 CNAMES, a change was introduced that eliminated a domain used in the authentication process for the single starting function without Microsoft seam It could be resolved and the authentication requests would fail, “the state page is apparently read.
Change of DNS
“These problems were caused by a recent change of DNS, which has now been reversed, and the service is completely recovered. At this time, customers should no longer find failures in DNS resolution.”
The status update was deleted later, but not before being collected by Bleepingcomputer. Apparently it was removed because the page is made only to track “generalized incidents”, and since the problem was solved, the update was eliminated.
Even so, Microsoft said it would share more details about the false step in the future, however, at the time of publication, that has not yet happened.
Enter ID (previously Azure AD) is the identity management and access service based on the Microsoft cloud. Handles authentication and authorization for users accessing Microsoft services such as Microsoft 365, Azure and other integrated applications.
Sync without seams and enters Connect Sync are characteristics that improve how ID enters manages authentication. SSO without seams automatically sign users when they are in a corporate network, using their local credentials without requiring a password message. Connect Sync enters ensures that the identities of the users, group membersiah and credentials remain synchronized between the active local active directory of an organization and the Entrra ID, which allows the management of hybrid identity.
