- Microsoft states that Windows 11 24h2 is the most reliable version in history
- The company says it has 24% less accidents than version 22h2
- In a blog post on resilience, Microsoft also clarifies the benefits of the latest Windows update for 24h2
Microsoft has presented a box for Windows 11 24h2 to be the “most reliable version” of its desktop operating system ever performed.
Long and short of this is that the software giant states that there are much more blockages with version 24H2 compared to Windows 11 version 22h2.
XDA developers saw that Microsoft made this statement in a publication in the Windows It Pro blog, stating that: “We are also proud to share that Windows 11 24h2 is our most reliable Windows version until now. In comparison with Windows 10 22h2, the fault rates for unexpected reset have decreased by 24%.”
We are based on telemetry data collected this month (July 2025) by Microsoft. Unexpected reset refer to the complete blockages of the system, and as noted above in the publication, these blue -screen screen experiences (BSOD) have changed to a more simplified black screen. That happened in the last update of Windows 11 24h2, which has just reached the preview (but it will be a complete launch next month).
Microsoft underlines the benefits of the new BSOD (which easily uses the same acronym) and points out that: “In Windows 11 24h2, we make significant improvements to block the overturned collection that reduced the time that users spend in the [BSoD] screen from 40 seconds to only 2 seconds For most consumption devices. “(I must take into account that the bold for emphasis is Microsoft).
In addition, Microsoft reminds us of recent progress in terms of recovery of unpleasant failures, namely starting failures, observing that the most recent Windows 11 update also represents the deployment and general availability of the rapid recovery of the machine. QMR is a new turn to try to fix a PC that will no longer start on the desk.
Analysis: Shock tests, fictitious
There is no doubt that Microsoft has made some useful advances here in terms of making Windows 11 devices more resistant, which is the issue of blog post. But, the latest version of Windows 11, 24h2, really has a room less blockages than 22h2?
Well, obviously we need to be cautious about the statistics produced by internal tests, it is not that it is accusing Microsoft of something insufficiently, but we are all aware that in this type of scenarios, multiple tests and the results collected can be performed. (This practice is common in all marketing, of course).
Without a doubt there are those who would discuss vehemently that 24h2 much it’s not The most reliable version of the Microsoft desktop operating system that has been seen, mainly based on all the errors that came with this version. I will not turn over these technical problems, except to say that in fact there were many of them initially, and some were very strange issues.
I have always been of the opinion that the change to a new underlying platform for Windows 11 (called Germanio) threw a series of unexpected boats in the process for the operating system.
Microsoft has advanced a lot to fix those errors, although not all, and I have to accept the statistics that the company presents here to the nominal value. (I can hardly refute them with my own shock tests, after all).
However, what I can say is that all this is relative, anyway. With which I mean that I have not seen a BSOD at ages, on my Windows 11 or, in fact, in my Windows 10 machines.
So, less accidents means that those Bsod instances are even closer to almost nothing, and how significant is the difference, then? I’m not sure. There is no dispute that in contemporary times, complete blockages are much rarely in the windows than they used to be. The recovery time in the 15 years or so, and the blockages like this were more a problem (and return further, to the change of the millennium, and that was doubly true).
Whatever the case, Microsoft deserves some credit here, and I also hope that the new fast machine recovery function is a useful chain for problem solving when a PC hits a starter failure (which feared the most problems).
I have my reservations about the redesigned BSOD, Mind, as I said before, and you can bet that Microsoft’s statement that Windows 11 24h2 is the most reliable version will never cause the grinding of some gears, particularly those who adopted early 24h2, and were unfortunate to find some of the many mistakes that the players were especially in the line of fire).
However, there are anecdotal reports about Reddit that Microsoft is finally doing well with version 24h2, even if it was flooded to start, even if in mind that in the same thread, others still report negative experiences (again, particularly those who are enthusiastic PC players).
