The former finance minister, Miftah Ismail, said Sunday that privatization alone is not enough; The energy sector also needs a friendly regulation for people and better national and local governance.
When addressing a conference entitled “Food progress: affordable energy for industry and inclusive growth,” Ismail said that the electricity supply is a highly regulated sector that needs urgent reforms.
The conference attended prominent figures of the industry, energy services, policy institutions and the media. The objective of the conference was to present practical suggestions for the supply of affordable and reliable energy and inclusive economic development.
