ISLAMABAD:
Defending the May 9 convictions by military courts, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said on Wednesday that cases involving attacks on military installations would be tried exclusively in military courts.
He urged the PTI to avoid muddying the waters by politicizing the issue.
At a news conference in Islamabad, Tarar accused the former ruling party of exploiting the issue of military courts to fuel controversy as it seeks to challenge the convictions as “unconstitutional” in court.
The Minister clarified that trials in military courts were strictly limited to cases of attacks on defense establishments.
