First in Fox: The 2027 military world games will be played in Charlotte, North Carolina, marking the first time the event has been presented in the United States.
The last military world games took place in Wuhan, China, in October 2019, only a few months before the Covid-19 pandemic exploded from that same city, putting the event on ice for what will be an eight-year parenthesis.
When the games return in 2027, it will come right in the middle of two important international sporting events that will also play in the United States: the FIFA 2026 World Cup and the Los Angeles Olympic Games of 2028.

President Donald Trump will preside over each of the events, and although he played a role in bringing the World Cup and the United States Olympic Games in his first term, he has to thank his Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for giving the approval of the Military World Games for North Carolina, according to the co -chair of the Eli Bremer event.
Bremer told Pak Gazette Digital that Hegseth gave the final approval for the United States to organize the games.
“His vision for the United States Army, creating warriors, aligns with such precision with the US army that is involved in Sporting Elite,” Bremer said. “I think this aligns extremely well with the new leadership in the army. I think it is a great opportunity for the US army to attract an incredible talent that aligns with the leadership of Secretary Hegseth and even the Trump administration.”

Bremer, specialization in the Command of the Air Force Reserve and the former modern pentatleta who competed in the 2008 Olympic Games, recalled his experience competing with the athletes of some of the notable military adversaries of the United States in the past military world games, and believes that the 2027 event can help opposite sides to humanize each other geopolitical tensions.
“As a young Air Force officer, I had contact with Iranians and North Koreans who were in those sporting events, so he gave Americans the opportunity to make contacts with other countries and show them that we are real people,” Bremer said.
The games are organized by the International Council of Military Sports (CISM) of the second largest multidisciplinary sports organization in the world, after the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The president of CISM, Nilton Romil, of Brazil, told Pak Gazette Digital that there were barriers to take the games to the United States, but the committee promoted through a “competitive” process to do so in the United States, citing the symbolic importance of the maintenance of global peace.
“The barriers included the complexity of organizing such a large -scale international event for the first time in American soil. Safety security, diplomatic protocols and the infrastructure guarantee met the CISM standards. However, the shared commitment and vision made success possible,” Romil said.

“The importance is historical. Western allies have long been active members of CISM, and the United States has supported the mission from the beginning. Now, the host of the games in the American soil extends a clear message: West is committed to peace and global unity, not only through strategic alliances, but through shared human values.
“When organizing games, the United States is demonstrating leadership in promoting a peaceful international military commitment beyond defense cooperation, through athletics, cultural exchange and global solidarity.”
Three of the last four MWG were organized at the BRICS nations, with China organizing in 2019, the reception of Brazil in 2011 and the organization of India in 2007. Upon arriving in the United States, the event will be organized in a G7 nation for the first time since it was organized in Italy in 2003.
For many Americans who are veterans and former athletes, the 2027 games will mark a proud milestone.
The former American Olympic Chad Senior, who competed in the 2004 and 2000 Summer Olympic Games in the modern Pentathlon, and served in the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war as a veteran of the Special Forces of the Army, told Pak Gazette Digital that the games will arrive in an important moment, while he sees that the military becomes the most “partisa.”
“Policies in this administration are changing, and I don’t think people are in the middle, they are solidly against it or accept it solidly,” Senior said.

The former American Senator of Colorado Ben NightHorse Campbell, who competed at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games and served in the Air Force, celebrated Charlotte’s team for the next MWG.
“I was excited to know that the world military games arrive in the United States. As someone who served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War and represented our country in Judo mats in the 1964 Olympic Games, I think there is a direct correlation between the discipline and the dedication required to be an elite athlete or member of a combat force of the elite and the competition always at higher levels at higher levels at higher levels at higher levels at higher levels.
