Millions in BTC, ETH, XRP flowed to exchanges after Trump’s reserve plans

Millions in Tokens XRP and thousands of Bitcoins were sent to exchanges shortly after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, revealed plans to include assets as part of a cryptographic strategic reserve of the United States, one that may have contributed to his rapid price reversions after an increase.

Tickets per hour reached up to 193 million XRP after Trump’s message with most of the flows from whales (or influential headlines of any asset) that execute transactions of 1 million or more than XRP, Cryptoquant said in a Tuesday report.

On the other hand, the amount per hour of Bitcoin (BTC) that flows to exchanges increased from 500-1,000 to a maximum of 6,739 BTC per day after the announcement. Meanwhile, ETH inputs in exchanges increased to almost 300,000 in an hour.

Tickets to the exchanges of funds and merchants generally imply an intention to sell, since the large tokens holdings are generally stored in cold wallets (or offline)

Meanwhile, cryptocant analysts pointed out that the rise and sudden fall of cryptocurrencies on Monday and Tuesday indicated that the real demand of La Mancha continued in the contraction territory.

“The growth of the apparent demand of Bitcoin has continued to decrease after an acceleration period in November to December 2024 stimulated by the results of the United States elections and is now in contraction territory for the first time since September 2024,” analysts said. “Unless Bitcoin’s demand begins to increase again, maintain a demonstration in cryptographic prices will remain challenging.”

The apparent demand is a metric in the chain used to measure the balance between the production of Bitcoin (coins freshly mined through mining) and the changes in their inventory (coins that have been inactive for more than a year). Retail accumulation has decreased since the beginning of November, as Coindesk reported previously.
