The Ministry of Economic Affairs of Pakistan and Karachi Port Trust (KPT) confirmed on Friday that his official account on the social media platform X (previously Twitter) was pirated during the night.

In a statement, the spokesman of the Ministry of Economic Affairs clarified that any publication made during the violation must be considered unauthorized and not representative of the opinions or policies of the Ministry.
The next Tweet was made of the account after it was pirated.
The incident occurs two days after the National Cyber Emergency Response Team of Pakistan issued a red alert in response to the increase in cyber threats after the recent military tensions with India.
The notice had warned about attempts to interrupt the critical national networks and spread misinformation through deceptive messages, phishing schemes and manufactured stories.
The ministry said efforts are being made to ensure the committed account and investigate the violation.
