Baltimore Orioles’ rookie pitcher, Brandon Young, lost his perfect game offer brutally during the 7-0 victory of the team over Houston’s stars on Friday.

Young, 26, was four outs to be recorded in the history books when the second base of the stars, Ramón Urias, got up.

Young launched a change on the outside of the dish in a 2-2 count. Urias extended his hand and took advantage of a ball of land gently between the mound of the pitcher and the third base.

Young, who had to hurry due to the speed of Urias, picked up the ball with his naked hand, turned and fired a wandering throw to the first base, allowing Urias to reach. Urias received a blow, and Young was accused of an error for allowing Urias to advance to the second base in its wild launch.

“I thought I could do the work,” said Young after the game. “I got there on time. I think I had a little more time to take a step and take a better release. Obviously, I hurried it, I threw it … I definitely want it back.”

Young settled and struck out the central gardener of the Astros, Taylor Trammell, to finish the entrance. The 26 -year -old launched eight tickets while allowing Urias only a blow, and tied his career with six strikeouts.

“I was launching all his attacks for attacks, behind the counts, ahead in the counts. I could mix the locations well. I thought he just executed his plan really well,” said the orioles receiver, Adley Rutschman, about Young’s performance.

Young said he knew that the perfect game was at stake as the game progressed.

“It’s really difficult not to think about that,” said Young. “It’s just trying to calm down and think about a single throw at the same time. A little breathing, calm myself a little, but I could say what was happening.”

Young is originally from Lumberton, Texas, who is less than 100 miles northeast of Houston, and said that his parents and grandfather were among the family members who attended the Daikin Park, where Young began attending the games when he was five years old.

The Orioles (56-66) will play the stars (68-54) in the second game of their three-game series on Saturday at 7:10 pm et.
