The Chicago puppies receiver, Carson Kelly, hit the cycle during the defeat of the 18-3 team about athletics on Monday night in Sutter Health Park.
Kelly, 30, connected a homer in the fourth entrance and a two -run single at the fifth entrance and doubled and walked in the sixth entrance.
He had been triple a cycle several times before, and knew that the chances were stacked against him to obtain the triple elusive.

“I have been in this same position before I needed a triple for the cycle. If someone has ever looked for my numbers, I have two triples, so the probabilities are not in my favor, right?” Kelly said after the game.
“I did not do it the first time. This time I say: ‘Oh, I’m going to put together a good turn of the bat’. I screw it up, ‘oh yes, quite well.
With triple the eighth entrance, Kelly became the first puppy player from Mark Grace to hit for the cycle. The former first base did so on May 9, 1993, against San Diego’s parents. Kelly is the first recipient of the puppies to hit for the cycle since Randy Hundley did it on August 11, 1966.

“I know that Mark Grace also in Arizona. I will have to hit him,” Kelly said. “Pretty special. Great achievement. Something I never thought I would get. I am very fortunate and blessed. A lot of hard work, many great teammates who pump me. Then, in general, a very special night.”
Kelly also became the third claw player in blow to the cycle and walk twice in the same game. Joe Gordon did it for the New York Yankees in 1940, and Mickey Cochrane did it in 1937 for the Philadelphia A.
While Kelly knew he was going to go for the cycle, his manager, Craig Counsell, did not.
“I didn’t realize that I had a chance in a cycle, but when that ball started the wall, the bench began to go crazy. Then, I thought something was happening,” said Counsell. “They are fun days, they are rare days and they are unique days of type of life for players.”

Kansas City’s real ones now have the longest section without a cycle. The Legend of the George Brett franchise was the last real to reach the cycle on July 25, 1990, against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The puppies (3-4) play athletics (2-3) on Tuesday at 10:05 pm et in the second game of their three-game series.
