The New York Yankees received some alarming news on Friday night.
The star pitcher Gerrit Cole is scheduled to undergo diagnostic tests in his launch elbow in the next few days, according to MLB Network.

Cole said his arm felt good during the beginning, but worsened.
“When I got home, he continued to have more and more pain,” Cole said, through NY Post on Saturday. “Something was not right.”
Cole also had a scare of injuries last season during spring training, and was closed due to what was later diagnosed as nervous irritation in the elbow.
The six-time All-Star did not make its first start until June 19 last season, due to an injury. Last season in his short-term campaign, Cole had 8-5 with an effectiveness of 3.41 in 17 regular season openings.

In the Yankees race to the World Series, Cole was sensational in the playoffs. The AS of the Yankees was 1-0 and had an effectiveness of 2.17 in five openings in the postseason.
Cole said he changed his low season routine to help mitigate the risk of another injury.
“We came up with a plan to mitigate the risks, and I executed it,” Cole said.
“I felt the best I had at some point before (until the last beginning).”
Cole said he has an “initial idea” of what is the injury, but is “worried”, calling the pain “alarming” and that it was difficult to sleep.

The winner of 2023 to Cy Young is not the only Yankees pitcher who stays out of an injury, since Luis Gil suffered a high -grade lat tension.
Gil is expected to be closed for six weeks while recovering from his injury.
Without Cole and Gil, the initial rotation of the Yankees is now composed of Max Fried, Carlos Rodon, Clarke Schmidt and Marcus Stroman, with Prospect Warren among those who compete for the fifth place in the rotation.
