The second base of the Houston stars, José Altuve, asked the manager Joe Espada to get him out of the initial place for a peculiar reason.

Altuve, 34, will play the left garden this season for the first time in his career after spending the first 14 years of his career in the second base.

The star of the stars asked that they drop him from the initial place because he needed a little more time to prepare to hit due to the race farther from the bench from the garden than his old place in the second base.

“I just need about 10 seconds,” said Altuve.

Altuve was made to the garden after the game of gardener Kyle Tucker and the third base Alex Bregman.

The game of the stars against the Tigers of Detroit on Monday was the first time since 2023 that Altuve hit a place that is not initiated, since it reached the second. The Jeremy Peña campocorto came to the beginning in its place.

“I just told Joe that maybe he can hit me second at some point, and he did today,” said Altuve. “I only need as that small extra time to come from the left field, and decided to put Jeremy (there).”

“I enjoy playing baseball,” said Altuve. “I love playing, especially with these boys. I like being in alignment. In the end, it really doesn’t matter if second or left game, whether fighting or not. I just want to be in the alignment and help this team win.”

In his career, Altuve has reached the initiated in 919 games, hit the second in the alignment in 541 games and third in 333 games.

In 28 games this season, Altuve has an average .272 with four home runs and 12 ranges.
