Atlanta’s brave gardener, Jurickson Profar, will be suspended by the next 80 games for violating MLB policy on drugs that improve performance.
According to MLB’s policy, even after Profar returns from the suspension, it will not be eligible to play in the postseason.
MLB announced the suspension in a statement on Monday.

“The Baseball Commissioner’s office announced today that the Atlanta Braves gardener, Jurickson Profar, received a suspension of 80 games without pay after tesing positive for chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG), an improved performance substance, in violation of the prevention and treatment program of the major league baseball drugs.

The Braves published their own statement addressing the suspension.
“We were surprised and extremely disappointed in knowing that Jurickson Profar tested positive for a substance that improves the performance in the violation of the prevention and treatment program of Major League Baseball. We totally support the program and we hope that Jurickson learns from this experience,” the team said.

Profar was appointed All-Star for the first time in his career in 2024 at the age of 31. The season ended with the best of the race in the average batting in .280, home runs with 24 and RBI with 85. Profar was also beaten by most of the MLB releases last season with 18.
Profar signed a three -year agreement and $ 42 million with Los Bravos in January.
