The general manager of the Pittsburgh pirates, Ben Cherington, made it clear that, despite the brutal start of the team, they will not change the As of Paul Skenes.
Skenes, 22, has taken MLB by assault since its debut last year and is already one of the best sport pitchers. Fans and experts have theorized that moving Skenes would now get a return in an exchange that could drive pirates to the dispute.
However, Cherington closed that notion.

“No, it is not part of the conversation at all,” Cherington said Wednesday.
Pirates are 17-34 this season and last in Central NL, and no team has scored less races in baseball. They have scored 151 races this season, 13 races less than the next closest team, the Chicago White Sox.
The average bat of the pirate team is .219, which is the second lowest in baseball. A skenes trade, while remaining under the control of the team during the rest of the decade, would provide pirates with a talent group that could instill their alignment.
Cheington knows that alignment is a problem, but does not want to exchange skenes.

“We just have to improve,” Cherington said. “Let us play better baseball, and that will lead to win more games. Then, we wake up and see where it takes us when we get to July.”
“We want the triple boys to blow the door,” Cherington said. “That would be good. I still think that can happen this year. We want more over time … everyone knows that we have to write down more races. That will not happen just by saying and waiting for it. You have to do the job to do it.”
The last start of Skenes was against the Philadelphia Philis last weekend, in which Skenes limited the Philis to three hits while throwing the first complete game of his career.
The pirates fired the manager Derek Shelton a couple of weeks ago, but that has not changed their loss forms.

The initial rotation has been solid but has received little help from alignment or bullpen.
Skenes (2.44), Mitch Keller (3.88), Andrew Heaney (2.91) and Bailey Falter (3.50) have been great, but also have a combined record of 11-21.
In 33 race openings, Skenes is 14-8 with an effectiveness of 2.12 and an amazing strikeouts in 195.2 race tickets thrown.
